Fundacja Słuchaj! is starting its new publishing year with Illuminated Sillence trio comprised of Izumi Kimura - piano, Barry Guy - double bass and Gerry Hemingway - drums.

Izumi Kimura was born in Yokohama, where she began her first music lessons. She graduated the piano class from Toho University of Music. Soon after, she moved to Siudo Ireland where she now lives. Izumi Kimura has collaborated with RTECO, Crash Ensemble, Ergodos, Music 21 and with musicians such as Michael d'Arcy, Bill Dowdall, Kenneth Edge, Ben Dwyer, Cora Venus Lunny and Ronan Guilfoyle , Tommy Halferty, Michael Buckley, Benoît Delbecq, Stéphane Payen or Sarah Buechi.

Until recently, she had two albums released - a solo recital titled A Dream Within a Dream and a duet Maelstron recorded with guitarist Tommy Halferty. To work  on her newest album Izumi Kimura invited legends of jazz and improvised music. And so on the double bass we will hear Barry Guy and on the drum kit Gerry Hemingway - drummer, who, for some, will be best known for his 10 years tenure in Anthony Braxton’s second big quartet.

The recording took place in the church of St. Anna in Dublin on February 22, 2018. Album is comprised of improvised compositions and pieces written by Izumi Kimura, as well as Agusti Fernandez and also three songs by Barry Guy including "Blue Horizon" and "Ancients".

During the recording session the trio was also accompanied by the film producer Cormack Larkin.
