Doroczny chicagowski Umbrella Music Festival to najważniejszy przegląd muzyki kreatywnej w Chicago. Co roku, tym razem po raz szósty, między 2 a 6 listopada na kilku scenach wystąpi czołówka amerykańskich improwizatorów oraz zaproszonych gości. W zeszłym roku Polskę "pod parasolem" reprezentował Wacław Zimpel. Tym razem będzie to Gerard Lebik - saksofonista znany m.in. z kwartetu Foton.

Lebik wystąpi w Chicago 2 listopada w ramach cyklu European Jazz Meets Chicago. Towarzyszyć mu będą: znakomita trębaczka Jaimie Branch, Anton Hatwich (bas) i Marc Riordan (perkusja).

Poza Lebikiem Europę na festiwalu reprezentować będą pianiści: Hans Peter Pfammatter (Szwajcaria), Sophia Domancich (Francja), Sten Sandell (Szwecja), saksofoniści Ab Baars (Holandia), Jan Maksimowicz (Litwa), Francesco Bigoni (Włochy), trębacze Franz Hautzinger (Austria), Thomas Heberer (Niemcy) oraz perkusjonista Ramon Lopez (Hiszpania). Wszystkim Europejczykom towarzyszyć będą czołowi muzycy sceny Chicagowskiej - m.in. Jason Adasiewicz, Mike Reed czy Tim Daisy.

Koncerty z tego cyklu odbywać się będą w Chicago Cultural Center a wstęp na nie będzie bezpłatny.

W weekend scenę przejmą muzycy amerykańscy - m.in. Tim Berne, John Butcher, Marshall Allen, Odean Pope, Mary Halvorson czy Matt Wilson.
